There are also options to choose a domain name that incorporates some of your keywords. There is value to a domain name that contains keywords, but for marketing and branding purposes, it’s always a good idea to have your company name be your domain name.

If you are working with a web company that is purchasing your domain under their registered account somewhere – it can be very difficult to get control of your domain in case you want to stop using their services. Make sure you ask the company you’re working with to set up an account under a Domain Registrar that is in your name!
