Social Media Images Seminar

On August 14, 2013, we will host a free social media seminar entitled “Picture Perfect Images for social media”. The seminar will show you how to use correct images in social media profiles and campaigns. The event will take place at the Design & Promote’s training classroom at 1952 McDowell Rd., Suite 100 in Naperville IL. The seminar will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Although this is a free event, registration is required and space is limited.

“Picture Perfect Images for Social Media” is geared towards social media managers but anyone who is responsible for their organization’s online image can benefit from the seminar. The bulk of the seminar will focus on the importance of social media image sizes to designing effective online profiles. Participants will get a primer on image editing software, where to find stock photos for free and how to resize and save images in the proper format for their intended use.

“Everything online is visual today. If you want to get attention with your social media strategy, you need a clear message and visuals with impact. This is especially true of your social media profiles. Consumers and clients are conducting searches on companies every day and part of that research is going to bring up the company’s social media profiles. Businesses and organizations have a great opportunity to really engage with your customer and connect with them through the images they use in these profiles said Danielle Luke, Graphic Designer at Design & Promote.

Recent changes in Facebook image sizes for Timeline and Events have proven confusing for many companies and as a result they are not getting maximum visibility from their Facebook profile. LinkedIn image sizes and Twitter image sizes also benefit from special attention, according to Danielle.

“Many social media managers and interns use the exact same image for all of their accounts and while the consistency of the image is a good idea, the formatting is where things get messed up. The ideal size for Facebook may not translate well to Twitter or Google+. That’s where you run into problems like only a portion of the image shows up, which looks really unprofessional. This seminar will go over all the little details related to resizing images in a variety of ways and teach you how make those changes yourself. Once you know how to do it, it’s a very quick and simple process,” explained Jones.

Design & Promote is encouraging seminar participants to bring laptops with them so they can try out some of the techniques they will learn during the session.
